John & Barbara Gardner stop by Merkel on the way to Virginia from Arizona. What a lovely visit we had, and introduced them to Real Onion Rings at the Local Saloon.

Here we are once more enjoying the balmy weather of South Florida in the midst of Winter.
Our chosen parking place is in the Larry & Penny Thompson campground off of Eureka Ave, and is it lovely. We have been enjoying the collected avocadoes from the trees here in the park, and probably adding a few pounds in the meantime. The time that we are spending with our Daughter Kandece and her husband Michael Horton is savored greatly and will be carried in our hearts forever.

We arrived here in the park on November 17 and plan to stay here until the 7th of January when we plan on returning to the GMC Co Op in Orlando for some minor maintenance on the Motorhome.

We shall then proceed to Merkel, TX to collect the mail that rests there awaiting our collection, sorting, collecting, depositing prior to continuing to Gold Canyon, AZ and our Park Model that we use as our resting point while we are there.

The last two years have been too interesting to spend much time recording the experience, but I shall attempt to come back for a visit and reconstruct it as best I can at a later date.

Hopefully the time lapse will not be of the length as the last one has been.

Surprise Hail

Who would believe it would hail on the 10th of July in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley of Montana.

This afternoon at precisely 1500 hrs, the satellite shut down, the television closed down, and the skys opened up to present us with approximately a 2 inch ground cover of 3/8 inch hailstones.

Lasted 4 minutes, and it was phenominal. No damage, and I didn't have to run the sprinklers today.

Unplanned Trip to MotoSat

Here we are once again in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah enjoying the very pleasant KOA on North Temple. The flowers are absolutely magnificent and the Park has been literally jam-packed this Fathers Day weekend. Nice to see so many families out together having such a good time

Hadn't planned on making this trip, but the unexpected malfunction of the magnificent MotoSat Datastorm satellite system necessitated our seeking more expertice at maintenance than I have in my own personal tool-box. Thought we had the problems all solved on Friday, but after moving to the KOA for a bit of rest and recovery late in the afternoon, decided we should remain in the area over the weekend and return to the facility for more "Tweaking" on Monday. Life goes on,

One nice thing, we had an opportunity to experience another wonderful Mexican Food restaurant that we had not enjoyed before. Friday evening led us to the magnificent Red Iguana just a few blocks east of the KOA. We have eaten in more Mexican Restaurants than I can remember, but we both agree that this one is right at the top of the list. Their Guacamole is even better than that in south-west Texas that we found on the way to the Big Bend last month. Wasn't in-expensive, but when you consider that we took away enough to allow us to take care of Saturday's needs, it really wasn't bad at all. We both had the Pork Entree, and it was beyond comparaison. Try it, you will like it.

The new gearing has definitely increased my vacuum readings.Coming to Salt Lake last Thursday from Conner I stayed at 65 mph whenI got past Salmon, ID and the mileage seems to be higher than before.I took on a load of Plus from Exxon by not being at the right pump,and definitely noticed a decrease in power compared to my normal usage of Premium.There was a very definite ease of ascent coming up out of theBitterroot Valley to the top of Chief Joseph Pass, and much better engine braking coming down to Salmon. There were very few times that my speed dropped down to 50 mph coming over the 7,000 ft pass south ofSalmon.I am very much enthused with the seemingly increased performance and will let you know what my fuel usage will get to after the return toConner this coming week using Premium Fuel all the way back. Coming down from Salmon to Elwood, UT using Plus fuel, the m/g was 9.53.Will fill up at the same stations going back and use the same technique to ascertain what, if any, difference the use of Premium fuel on the same sector will make.

Will try to add pictures when we return to Bunky Ranch Tuesday or Wednesday, but can tell you the drive down was absolutely beautiful. I have never seen the Salmon River so high, and the flowers are really wonderful.

Will try to remember to post more often.

Time flies when you are having fun and enjoying renewing the paint on 4 t pees, and mowing and weed-eating, and good friends company.

The following pictures are of the Brothers and their Ladies that met at the home of Goron Ross in Austin, Texas on April 28, 2006 for a grand week-ends party. The notice and timing of the party unfortunately found many of us un-able to attend due to prior commitments, but evidently those that made it thouroughly enjoyed themselves. We must do it again in the very near future while there are still enough able to make it to the Table.

Sigma Nu Reunion

One day a few years, some of we Sigma Nu Brothers from the University of Texas decided to have a little Gathering.

Some from the 40s, and some from as late as the 60s.

Many of our beloved Brothers were unable to attend, for various reasons, Death being the most prevalent one, but a good time was had by all.

Laughter, tears, hugs & kisses where warranted, and plenty of Lemonade.

My lovely Bride came in her Wheel Chair, because of an ice induced fall in the wilds of Montana.

I challenge all of you to try to identify those in these pictures.

Tucson Adventure

We have been having a great time here in the Tucson area during our way back to Gold Canyon and Casa de Fruta. New friends Barbara and John Gardner from Virginia who have recoverred from Transmission and Final Drive problems and will be on their way to Virginia tomorrow as we will be on our way to Gold Canyon for a few days before leaving for Santa Barbara, Lompoc and Casa de Fruta. Am attaching a picture that JOHN took here at the Voyager Resort this morning. He and Barbara are tremendously accomplished folks in many venues.

We are looking forward to many days of pleasant association with them.

Olga and Hermm Beeck have really shown us some wonderful hospility while here.
